Film: ‘Honky Tonk Heaven: The Legend of the Broken Spoke’ - Documentary of the iconic landmark;
Q&A / Reception with the filmmakers following the film.
Following the film experience we'll have ghost stories around the campfire.
Saturday morning, October 14th: 10:30-12:30
Join us to celebrate a once-in-a-generation event - the annular ring-of-fire solar eclipse. During this eclipse, the Moon is centered in front of the Sun but doesn’t completely obscure it, instead leaving a ring of sunlight visible around the Moon’s edges – the annulus or ‘ring of fire.’
Hear ‘Stories of
‘Momentous Historic Events That Have Occurred During Eclipses’
& ‘The Science of the Eclipse ‘plus the riveting story of ‘Navajo Sunpainters’.
We’ll commemorate this historic event by making cyanotypes – a type of photograph made by placing objects directly on a specially treated cloth that is then exposed to the sun. Wherever the object blocks out the light the cloth will remain white, and the area exposed to the sun will turn blue.
Bring a special object and join with your friends in creating a one-of-a-kind
community memory of the annular eclipse at StoryFest.
